This is not your typical “thank you post to my teacher”
This post is a F you post to Pn Ng who used to teach me maths in Primary school.
I remember when I was standard 4 I used to have this maths teacher who hated me.
I’m not exaggerating.
She told my friend that I was ugly when I wore a tudung to school one day.
She insulted me in front of the whole class saying I was a slow kid.
Basically she thought that I was a failure.
and that I would have never gone far…
Well look at me now Pn Ng,
Even though my SPM results were not good.
I graduated from KDU with an upper credit.
It is nothing to brag about.
I didn’t graduate with a Distinction.
But still.
I beat the odds.
and I bet I beat your expectations and everyone else.
I got into RMIT too.
I’m in Melbourne now,
I bet you didn’t think that I could even get accepted to any Universities let alone international.
Teachers like you make students like me.
Want to shove my ‘achievements’ up your ass.
I haven’t achieve much…
But one day when I have…
You will be in my thank you note for doubting me.
Thank you for making me feel like shit when I was 10.
Thank you for not liking me when I was 10.
Thank you for all the insults when I was 10.
Because all of that…
I have become stronger.
I don’t really care what people like you have to say at my face anymore.
Because I have proven to myself that I CAN achieve things.
I just have to put my mind to it.
and with the help of God.
Insyaallah.
You know,
Teachers are supposed to help students.
I think teachers are one of the most important people in the world.
They are the ones who shape children for the future…
Some wonder why teachers are not appreciated.
One of the reasons is because of teachers like you (Pn Ng)…
I feel sad for you…
I wish you well(if you are still alive)…

I’ve loved this poem since last year.

But man do I want a guy like him?
I’ve realised that looks would only go far.
I want a guy who is smart and passionate about something that has substance.
I wouldn’t say that looks don’t play a factor.
It does.
But personality plays the bigger role.
